- "Another year comes to an end, a time to look back and forward. Looking back its been a great year, "Lonesome Valley Again " charted, it was an honor to perform at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival
and  tour with Hot Tuna. Thanks to all the DJ's for the airplay and all the wonderful people for coming to the shows and taking my music home.Theres  no way I could thank everyone thats helped and inspired me ,but I must mention Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Jorma and Vanessa Kaukonen and my family including all the great musicians who perform with me. Jesus has blessed me with a year of health ( except for that horse accident and that was my fault) and riches that  would escape me if it were not for all the folks around. Looking ahead, theres plans for at least two cd's this year and lots of shows including The Woody Guthrie Festival. Again ,I can't thank everyone enough for all the support. I pray everyone has a New Year where dreams come true and ghosts fade " - Rob McNurlin

9/12/03- "Johnny Cash is the reason I play music, the Father of my country. He was exactly as he seemed. The times I met him he treated me like a member of the family. He was a member of my family, we invited his music in our house and lives, in return he entertained us, gave us food for thought, helped us worship God. He shared his family with us, when we turned on the TV or put that record on the turn table his family and friends were with him and in turn with us. June called me honey one time, John Carter helped me make an album, Johnny told me Jack Elliott stories. These things stay in my mind like ridin' horses with my dad and brother when I was just little or my mom teaching me Sunday school. These are family memories. When I first heard that Johnny had passed on, I thought of the song he sang with June "Far Side Banks of Jordon". I'm sure June was waiting and when she saw Johnny coming she ran across the river, took hold of his hand and they went to see Jesus face to face. Johnnys not gone, he just moved across the river. He's with us every time we put on a record, cd or video. Each time a guitar starts that "boom chicka boom". My thoughts and prayers are with John Carter and the rest of the family. Thanks for sharing your family with mine."
